The service indicator lights are reset through a pin in the diagnostic connector located in the engine compartment. There are 2 types of diagnostic connectors used on BMWs. One is a 15 pin connector used on 1987 and earlier cars, the other is a 20 pin connector used on 1987-on cars. Step 3: take plastic cover off of the top of where the battery is on the right side of trunk. Step 4: disconnect ground wire from battery, disconnect both wires. Step 5: wait 10-15 minutes. Step 6: correctly reconnect battery.

We recommend BMW High Performance 5W-30 Synthetic oil, p/n 07 51 0 017 866. Check transmission for leaks. Check rear axle for leaks.
